Arnaud "Basco" Elissalde left the Basque region of France at the age of 21and landed in Miles Cit, Montana. He has been the caretaker at the Fire Hall in Jordan, Montana, since 1968. "I've never seen as nice a place as this one," he says of Jordan. He's never married. Kids? "I hope not."
